What are the regulations for pregnant ATP pilots? Can they fly? Francisco
......................................................................
You ask an interesting question. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. There are no etched-in-stone rules, as far as the FAA is concerned. But each carrier usually has their own policies. They can vary with each carrier.

My wife is 3 months preganant and have a turbocharged twin. Will flying at altitudes between 10,000 and 12,000 feet cause any problems during a normal pregnancy. Is it a good idea to use oxigen at those altitudes. Is there any evidence that the changes in atmospheric pressure can cause any harm to the unborn? Looking forward for your kind reply, Peter

It is probably best to stay at 10,500 or lower when flying with a pregnant passenger, unless that passenger has chronic health problems or is suffering from any complication of pregnancy.

I am six months pregnant and am learning how to fly. Can I continue? Rosie
......................................................................
As far as the FAA is concerned, yes, as long as you are not on any mind-altering medicines (not likely when you are pregnant), and you are feeling well without any of the typical complications of pregnancy (diabetes, eclampsia, anemia, etc.). To be on the safe side, I suggest that you continue to fly with your instructor until you deliver. Start your cross-country solo work after you deliver. Always check with your obstetrician prior to flying. Use caution with the application of your seatbelt/shoulder harness.
