True Story-
I had just gotten my pilots license a few weeks prior to being
checked out in a C172. When I got checked out, as any pilot knows, you
want to take everybody flying. So, I asked three high school budies of
mine to go (I was a senior in H.S. at the time.)
Once in the air everybody wanted see their house from the air. Being from a rural
area, I was possible to do some low level flight. This was just the
right time for me to demonstrate how to "dive" an airplane. Everybody
loved it. About 5 minutes later I hear this: "I think I'm getting
sick." Not a problem because I was real close to a grass strip. About
a minute passed when my friend looks over at me, pail white, and says:
"I can't wait." So, I tell him to open the window and take care of the
problem. Seemed like a good idea, but both of us forgot about the prop
blast. What went out came back in and literally covered my friends in
the back. I landed rather quickly and safely but I learned a few
things from this experience.
1. always have sick sacs on board
2. what people think is fun may not be
3. If you rent the plane and mess it up, you clean it up (I had the honors)
4. and lastly- don't feed passengers before a trip especially if they have never
flown before
